Bridges

After having played in these gardens dozens of time over the years, I think my daughters know every inch of these bridges at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna, VA.

As I sit silently in the pre-dawn darkness of the garden, I can almost hear them laughing and giggling between each other like it was 20 years ago. I can only imagine how big this place must feel to a small child.

These paths zig and zag though the garden, over and around the water. As the sun rises, the reflections in the lake come alive. You can hear the distinctive noises coming from dozens of camera shutters.

The golden hour has arrived at Meadowlark Gardens.

“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” – A.A. Milne
